Recent Construction:
... a few pictures of my recent workings on the inside...
Lately I have been tinkering with constructing the 4-way linked flight control system. It will incorporate a dual yoke OR a dual stick setup... there are 2 stick sockets in the floor that are mechanically linked to the yoke "T" via cable. Just plug in whichever controls you prefer... I can even have a stick on one side and a yoke on the other(which is how the initial setup will be)! By the way, my queen- sized bed is on top of this thing in my room... my sister thought it might be a good idea to still have a bed to sleep on. Little does she know that us simmers are flying all night. The best bunk bed I ever had!
Now if I can only devise a mechanism that will deposit me in the pilot's chair right as I wake up:)

Check out the throttles and stuff at the bottom!

starting the latout and wiring!!!
the center console houses the primary CPU, accessed through the front sloped area. It is mounted on a rail system that slides out for access to the drives while sitting in the seat. This item is not finished by any means... lots of controls to add still!!! Also, the stick sockets are complete and will be installed into the yoke system soon...more work!
PHOTO SHOWING PRELIMINARY FLAP SWITCH...
This flap lever has 5 detents, shown by the arc of screws. The lever is spring-loaded, so a roller travels over the screws and then falls between them. Very effective. Also, enclosed in the housing is a 5 stage contact assembly to illuminate the position indicator lights according to flap lever position, and an elaborate set of microswitches that will allow simple keyboard emulation of flap operation, either up or down, or the potentiometer included can be used once I get an EPIC card. Alot of my controls have dual switches so I can use a low cost emulation card or the EPIC. I will have on-the-fly programability in other sims(other than fs2000) and games with this type of setup.
ALOT OF STUFF.

works very well.
